Top 5 fastest cars

With many ways to measure automotive excellence, there stand some at par than the normal ones and if you’re a petrolhead, there is probably at least something you might wonder about it from time to time.
The vehicle speeds set during production at street-legal settings with no custom fits required. For the most of us, the top speed of 225mph hit by the ‘slowest’ of them would be breathtakingly fast, to indulge in understatement.
1. Hennessey Venom GT

Hennessey recorded the top speed of 270.4-mph run at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Runway last year, but in only one direction. To be considered legitimate, record attempts usually require one run in each direction. An average is then taken to account for wind conditions.
With its hand-built nature, a debate arises about whether the Venom GT qualifies as a production car. The Guinness Book of World Records doesn’t recognize it as the world’s fastest car, but this the fastest that legally sports a license plate.
2. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

In 2010, the Bugatti team proved in Ehra-Lessien grounds with this beast touching 431.07 km/h (267.8 mph). The Guinness Book of World Record folks were on spot and certified the results, so the decade kicked off with a new top speed. When Volkswagen purchased the Bugatti brand, they had one goal: the fastest production car in the world.
The 1,200 ho beast with numerous aerodynamic changes meant to help gain a few extra miles per hour stands the second today with a dream to cross Hennessey Venom GT.
3. Bugatti Chiron

Bugatti Veyron being a monumental feat of engineering, a supercar whose performance was so marvelous, Top Gear presenter James May compared it equivalent to Concorde. 10-years down the lane Volkswagen Group unveiled the Veyron’s successor, Chiron named after a centaur in Greek mythology.
The 1500 hp beast in chains hits a max of 261 mph and on the racetrack, Bugatti aims to break those chains as well with the current speed record (271 mph) held by the Hennessey Venom GT. As for now, it’s speed remains a mystery to the public.
The Chiron not just meant to be a mere speedster, but a comprehensive luxury vehicle as well with a beautiful leather interior and also sports a decadent sound system, with a diamond diaphragm inside each speaker.
It’s also said that only 500 of these will be released for the first generation, and they cost a staggering $2.6 million.
4. Koenigsegg Agera RS

Koenigsegg Agera Rs has set a name not just on tracks but on the roads for regular use too. The 1,140 hp beast hits up to 260mph, with 200 mph in just 17.68 seconds. With the new added functionality and equipment such as advanced sound insulation, front winglets, side skirts, dynamic underbody flap system etc they have managed to lower the curb weight compared to the previous Agera S and R models.
The engine has been optimized giving it a boost on higher power levels and also offers the ability to adjust on-the-fly to any fuel mix. It is said that only 25 Rs will be handcrafted, with 10 pre-sold to the first showing.
5.  SSC Ultimate Aero

SSC has nothing to do with Carroll Shelby of Cobra fame, but for quite a time the Ultimate Aero stood on top of the line beating the might of the Volkswagen Group and the prestige of the Bugatti name.
The Ultimate Aero hit a top speed of 257.41 mph, and SSC stated that it could keep going on all the way to 273mph. Having no electronic driver aids to help control that power, creating a purer driving experience for those with talent, and a scenario of certain death for those without.
