She ran away?

Mom (3 missed calls) 10:58am Laiba (2 missed calls) 11:04am Inayah (2 missed calls) 11:05am “Why did everyone miss me all of a sudden? That too around 11am.” I asked myself, dumping my question paper and hall ticket in my bag and slinging it over my shoulder. Just as I was about to call back everyone, a friend jumped in out of nowhere “How was your exam?” she asked. I chuckled before replying “For a person ,who opened the book at 7 in the evening, fell asleep at 8,woke up at 7 the next day and wrote the exam at 10, how would her exam be like?” She laughed in response. “Where are your other friends?” she questioned. “This was my backlog exam so they didn’t have it. By the way, why did you come?” I questioned back. “I came to pick up my…” she paused as her eyes fell on someone behind me “Ah she’s here, my sister”. We soon bid our goodbyes and walked on our ways. It was still about ten minutes  to reach home, when the missed calls popped in my head. I dialed mom and su

Flat Earther Plans To Launch Himself In A Homemade Rocket

“ Mad” Mike Hughes, 61, limousine driver, plans to launch himself in a homemade rocket. He has spent the last few years, working on his steam powered, self proclaimed rocket. His red coloured rust bucket, built using scrap metal screams out the words “Research Flat Earth”. The first launch in January 2014 at Winkelman, Arizona where he travelled 1,374 feet and the Gravitational force had him incapacitated for weeks. The Flat Earther also holds a Guinness World Record for a limousine jump in 2002. Hughes plans on entertaining us this weekend, launching himself high into the air. He wants to prove that the Earth is flat secretly wishing the Gravitational force ignores his launch. Despite his engineering skills, Hughes says he doesn’t believe in science. “I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the air, about the certain size of rocket nozzles, and thrust,” he told the Associated Press . “But that’s not science, that’s just a formu

International Men's Day

19 th November - International Men’s Day International Men's Day is an annual international event celebrated on 19 November. It was inaugurated in the year 1992, on 7 February, by Thomas Oaster. But hold on for a second; forget about celebrating, did we even know that this day exists? Men and women are an equal right, then why isn’t men’s day grandly celebrated just like women’s day? Equality goes on a walk when it comes to talking about men, yeah? Let’s have a look at what a man does. A boy becomes a man as soon as he hits puberty. There would be competitions between them as to ‘who would grow his beard first’ even though they have no control over it. During his teens, he finds a crush and falls in love with her, he might or might not confess his love. But when he does and the girl reciprocates, he goes to any limit just to keep her happy. He does not care if she would become her wife or not. He simply gives her whatever he has at the moment. In case, the girl bre

SSS - Scam Sinister Society

Online scams have recently boosted up in the last few years gaining quite a lot of popularity, where 5 out of 10 people get caught up in online scams and end up pouring a lump sum of hard earned money down the drain. There have been frequent cases, where the victim's bank account is hacked just by gathering personal details like location, bank account details, family details etc. Once these details are gathered, the hackers contact the concerned person luring them into revealing the OTP (one-time-password) which is used to secure online transactions, and/or other debit/credit card details. Even the banks cannot be held responsible in these cases as the victim shares the OTP voluntarily. Further, 90% of the surveyed people in India have lost money. Regionally, the average financial loss per person is Rs 6,81,070, but alarmingly in India, the average loss reaches up to Rs 8,19,000.  In India, about 39% users have been a victim of 'work from home' scam. It is a s

India

India holds a place for one of the oldest civilizations in the world, as the 7th largest country in the world, India stands out surrounded by mountains and sea, compared to the rest of Asia which gives it a distinct geographical entity.     India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with a kaleidoscopic variety and rich cultural heritage. It has achieved all-round socio-economic progress during the last 70 years of its Independence. As the 7th largest country in the world, India stands apart from the rest of Asia, marked off as it is by mountains and the sea, which give the country a distinct geographical entity. Bounded by the Great Himalayas in the north, it stretches southwards and at the Tropic of Cancer, tapers off into the Indian Ocean between the Bay of Bengal on the east and the Arabian Sea on the west. India's glorious moment according to Indians arrived on the midnight of August 15, 1947. That glorious moment still holds me in awe, looking at the In

Struggle

‘Life without a struggle is simply a life wasted’ Life is simply not a road to walk on. It is a bumpy ride that takes you to heights as well as drag you to the bottom or just simply pushes you off the cliff. What will you do? Sit back and let life play with you like a toy until you’re broken? Of course, you can, nothing wrong in enjoying the drama at the cost of being broken. “How is it not wrong?” You enjoyed the view and thrill when life took you to the highest peak, didn’t you? You learned to live with pain when life dragged you down to the bottom. With every preceding step, life gave you a new experience, made you play different roles, made you realize the parts of yourself you never knew existed. Above everything else, it made you a stronger person. It doesn’t matter which pain you go through or how small it is, but if it makes you stronger then it definitely is worth it. Ever seen a diamond? The more it is cut, the beautiful and valuable it becomes. Let’s bring in

The Secluded Soul !

And I remember he used to say- do not rush for things which aren't yours. But now, it's too late.  I chased money just like a disciple blindly follows his teacher, foolishly assuming happiness to automatically come with it.  I had a fair share of happiness, and contentment, that which didn't last for a long time and instead had me drown in pools of regret and shame. Because all of this was my own decision. My own doing. And society, they weren't of much help either. Coz they never allow you to forget your flaws or mistakes you've done any time in your life. As they always keep me reminding to stop complaining and live the life as it is since this is the life I've chosen for myself. And now I am alone And caged.  Caged in self-accusation Caged in self-pity.  Caged in regret.  Caged in remorse. With pangs of conscience hitting me every now and then Reminding me of the mistakes I've purposely done Laughing at the immaturity

An episode of eve teasing

“I’m done with my exam. Where are you?” I said, pressing the phone in between my shoulder and ear, while I dumped the pens in my bag. “It’ll take me another ten minutes. Come over to block C and I’ll see you there.” My sister whispered on the other side. I was new to this college, how can she expect me to know where the block C is, I thought. Nevertheless, I asked her for the route with respect to the place I was standing.  I looked up to see the block A and took the stairs on right just as she said. There were about five stairs after which a garden came into view. Each tree was encircled by a heap of rocks. There were hardly some people in there. I kept walking peacefully while observing the surrounding. A few steps later, I could hear boys talking and laughing, I glanced over as to where the sound was coming from. I noticed a gang of boys, sitting in the secluded corner of the garden. Shifting my gaze back to the path I was walking on, I saw an extended staircase which was slig

I wonder

Let us take a few minutes out of our busy schedule and look at our country, the events occurring with each passing day. The past few days has had our ears repleted with distressing news, which has portrayed that these grounds are brimming with people who value money more than lives. We have seen broadcasts going viral starting from fellow humans getting crushed to public assaults and then enters the political parties who intend to amuse us by displaying the usage of their mental capacity. We now live in a country where people riot when a lewd public figure is taken into custody, passersby stop to take videos of a public assault but none do care to intervene, people stand up for the other just to escape boredom, where money is valued more than life and have shown that our country is much more than just incredible; it's filled with misery and agony. It's a world where rich get richer and the poor are still stumbled upon, talks about 'Acche Din' is nothing but

#MeToo - That Day

"What do you think about the hashtag MeToo?" she asked. I was sitting beside staring at the cigarette in my hands, I wasn't getting a proper answer. I answered finally, pulling a puff "Maybe to show the world, what it has done to women around." "It's not only about women, you know" she replied pulling out her phone and unlocking it. "It drags out those nightmares which I finally had buried deep inside," she added, scrolling through her Instagram and there I could see photographs of him, he was happily enjoying with his family.  His caption read "Fun with family in Paris"; "funny, isn't it?" she asked looking up at the sky. "Stop thinking about it," I said handing over the cigarette to her. "I was 8 years old, I couldn't tell my mom what her brother did to me for four years when his wife was away," she said with tears flowing down. Pulling the cigarette from her hand, I threw it d

Domestic Violence

An issue that is very well known but is ignored the best "Stand up against the wrong happening around you" his words keep nagging behind my mind. If only I hadn’t been dependent on someone my life today would’ve been different. It’s been 4 years I’m married to this devil and till date, I haven’t gathered up enough courage to punch him down. Just as I was about to put the curry in the bowl I felt a tug on the corner of my shirt, my eyes then met a pair of black eyes, Zara, my daughter “Mommy grandmother and daddy are very angry. They’re asking you to bring in food as soon as possible” she said picking up the plates and left. My heart clenched looking at her. ‘Oh God, I wish I could give my daughter a better life than this’ I silently prayed. I had to serve them before they lash out at me again, so I pushed away from the thoughts and was on my way to the dining area. My body froze just as I heard a tight slap and saw my angel on the floor. “She is teaching you that, right

Islam. Arduous, is it?

"yes, I am proud to be a Muslim but I can't follow the rules in there,  they're too difficult in today's life" Do you have the same thoughts? What do you think is difficult? Five times prayer a day or to follow our prophet's teachings? It hardly takes five minutes to offer the fardh namaz,  which is obligatory. I know there are times when you're just stuck at work, traveling, classes, parties or just chilling around the city, but did you forget that it was your Lord who gave you this moment to live. It was him who gave you that job,  it was him who gave you that moment to enjoy, it was him who blessed you with everything,  even then can't you pause your work for five minutes to pray? No matter where you are, there is a way to offer it. Allah has made it quite flexible and yet we fail to pray!  The five-time prayer is a gift given by Allah. A gift given by your friend would be valuable, this is a gift given by the Lord of the whole universe and no v

Hospital

Daunting silence repletes the air anguish and fear, ripping hearts apart Diseased person, buried under the sheets fighting for a hope, beloved behind the doors Lifeless bodies, aided by instruments wails and screeches,  a reaction for the death prayers have gone unheard, invocation still in line unaware of the fact, life has an ultimate end Slightest of the bliss, unaware these rooms are darkest hour passing, as a mortal technician stands hope cured and the incurable, a residence for the passing time healing the wounds, they stand heroes of the day

Distressing Stroll

A stroll down the road, a mistake was it? mercy brother! She pleaded, with folded hands a struggle to break apart, wriggling with might; eyes shut tight, tears in streams they ran rough hands, grabbing her waist; lingering on her lips, just one word 'stop' an instant death of words, repleted with void monstrous hands, slithering along her body a venomous snake, depleting her of life with lust filled eyes, a palm grabbed her chest; squeezed away her esteem, leaving none behind her attire tore apart, into shreds like her hopes nails carved between her thighs, along dribbles blood to cease she desired, with every forceful thrust stripped of her pride and dignity, just flesh she lay; a stroll down the road, a mistake was it?

Destination

“ I Give up " Very good, just make sure you give up the wrong things. Yes,  giving up is not a bad habit. The more you give up,  the higher you can fly. Before that, make a clear-cut in your mind “Where do you have to reach?"  How long your journey is, should be none of your worries, but how you're going to reach it should be. Your goal can be anything, like literally anything. It can be scoring high grades, taking your business to another level, writing, fitness, coping up with depression or it can just be getting your tasks done for a day. Don't worry about how small your goal is or impossible it is. Just give it a shot and do your best to achieve it. Don't search for the best options or ideas to reach your goal, but make the best use of what you have at present. Along the way, you might find people giving you 'free advice' while there will be others who'll give you 'unnecessary feedback', do not ignore them. Listen to what they&#

Repercussion

*** Recklessly deafening, the silence turned into Heinous enclosure, the soul stepped in Frightening yet benign, demons came to rescue The brutally bruised heart, incarcerated for life Holding on to the fragments, sharp and brittle  Mercilessly slaughtering, the pristine bonds The barbarous massacre, least of the nuisance Excavating the buried, the world meets its end Broken and bleeding, scattered are the parts Survived the battles, yet lost the  heart Lifelessly breathing in, the gratuitous air The warm corpse, from the mirror it did stare ***

A lesson

It was one of the worst days in her life. As she sat down inking the pages of her diary,  she saw her father peep through the half-open door. "Why the hell does he do that? He always said he trusts me and yet I find him peeping in my room every now and then.  Damn this perfect life of mine!" she whisper-yelled to herself. Sighing heavily she continued writing and then she heard him again "Baby girl,  grandma needs something,  can you help her out ?" Urgh!! It was one of the ways he dragged her out of her room she kept herself locked in. "Yeah coming" she shouted on top of her voice making it pretty clear how pissed off she was. Nevertheless, she has to be polite with elders,  gulping down the rage she politely asked what she had to do. She then started untangling her grandmother's hair when she heard her brother "Dad,  can I buy this? " he said showing something on his phone. A smile crept on her father's face as he said " yeah

Top 5 fastest cars

Image
With many ways to measure automotive excellence, there stand some at par than the normal ones and if you’re a petrolhead, there is probably at least something you might wonder about it from time to time. The vehicle speeds set during production at street-legal settings with no custom fits required. For the most of us, the top speed of 225mph hit by the ‘slowest’ of them would be breathtakingly fast, to indulge in understatement.  1. Hennessey Venom GT      source:VenomGT.com Hennessey recorded the top speed of 270.4-mph run at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center Runway last year, but in only one direction. To be considered legitimate, record attempts usually require one run in each direction. An average is then taken to account for wind conditions. With its hand-built nature, a debate arises about whether the Venom GT qualifies as a production car. The Guinness Book of World Records doesn’t recognize it as the world’s fastest car, but this the fastest that legally sports a license

Hopelessness 'Worth it, is it?'

“SAD?” “UPSET?” “DEPRESSED?” How casually we use these words, don’t we? Almost every other individual today is a victim of hopelessness. Hopeless to lead a desired life, hopeless to get a job and hopeless to find love the list goes on endlessly. Above all stands ‘hopelessness to live a happy life’. Why? Why have we become so damn hopeless that we even find it difficult to smile. What went wrong? What is that thing you lack? ‘Nothing at all, I have everything I need. But still that little slot of happiness remains abandoned’ If that’s your answer then I guess that the happiness slot isn’t abandoned but locked. Locked up by you, it is you who can unlock it and unless you do no one can help. Your best friend might hand over the key to you but it is you who has to turn the key and unlock. It is not difficult to find happiness but it is difficult to feel it. Wait! Just hold on a second! Did you ever think why is the door locked? Were you the one responsible for it?
