The Last straw

Life comes with a purpose, they say. When a child is born, people begin to wonder which side of the parent it resembles more. When it grows, they begin to wonder what would become of it. If it is a boy, would it become responsible enough to have a home and earn to raise a family? If it is a girl, would she be fit enough to be someone's wife, someone's mother or daughter in law? Would the child be a boon or a bane to his parents? They begin to think if it could stand the norms of society and the fact that gets them scared is, what if this child becomes a challenge? They begin to teach him how scary the world could get and how you should always listen to the opinions of those who don't matter in life. But in the quest of pulling the string to the heart of a child, they forget that maybe that could be the purpose of his existence. Maybe he is here to be a change and not to fit in?

The other day, there was this man, expressing his disdain for changing norms of our society, like love marriages becoming frequent, girls standing on the roads licking vanilla ice cream and even the use of tissues instead of handkerchiefs.
The point he was saying all that was when we have to die one day what is the purpose of going out there into the world to find adventures. Well, isn't it what we all begin to think at one point when we become tired of life?

You know why that happens? That is because instead of following our heart and interest, we tend to follow what the society wants from us. We tend to accept the known and the painful instead of risk and unknown. Its humane to do that. But what does it matter when we are here to get out of comfort zones? Is life so unnecessary? Are dreams so unnecessary? Is it really necessary that you discourage someone from doing something of interest just because you didn't have the courage to attempt to that? How many people do we have who are extremely talented and who are just wasting their talents in this crazy race of following the societal norms? You think about this. Think about this and act. Someone somewhere must be pulling off the last straw in an attempt to struggle against these norms. Just help them. If you can't, just keep quiet. You won't know what struggle is unless you are the one trying to pull that off.
