Friendship Day?

Friendship day, isn’t it? No, I’m not going to wish you nor am I going to say that ‘True friendship is celebrated everyday and not just one day’.

So, what am I going say, huh?

Well, friendship day is just an occasion where in most of us wish each other, while there are some who say that they don’t celebrate it. Friendship is not a matter of celebration nor is it about the good and bad moments you spent with each other. It is about how much you value each other when you have the world in your hand.

When you find new friends, will you value the old ones? Will they hold the same place in your heart or will you just give away their position to the new ones? Well, this is what friendship is. Despite being separated by distance, your love and affection for each other shouldn’t die with time. You need not be talking to them on daily basis but whenever you do, you should be talking as if there wasn’t a gap at all. Whatsapp probably should be the reason you are hooked up together, but be careful, it shouldn’t be the only one reason to be connected.

What does that mean?

Well, let’s take friendship day as an example. Your phone might be flooded with ‘Happy Friendship Day’ quotes and images on various social networking sites, but did you get at least one call from any of those who showered their love and affection in texts? I doubt if anyone did. Well, at least in my case it was none. Don’t you think friendship is half dead this way? Is friendship constraint by text messages? Good friends are indeed jewels, hold them close. If they are lost, you might never find the same again.
