Independence day

INDEPENDENCE DAY???

Celebrating independence day, but you really think India is independent? As far as I know, I don't feel we are independent yet. 

Why?

Politicians, rapists, murders, caste system, hatred among people, aren't these reasons enough to make you feel helpless?  Do you still dare to convince yourself that you are independent? Do you still stand with pride and say 'India is independent'? 

Our mothers, sisters, daughters getting raped, manhandled every day. When a girl child is born, it's still considered a bad luck. Poor getting poorer day by day and the rich? Well, they get rich with every passing minute.

"DALITS" what does this even mean?? Aren't they humans? Your fellow brothers and sisters? Why are they called untouchables? Why are they kicked out of homes, colleges, and workplace?Would you tolerate if someone did that do you?  Just because some idiot long ago started the caste system, doesn't mean even you have to follow the nonsense trait. 

I'm ashamed of calling myself an Indian when my brothers and sisters are stripped of their rights to be called a human when they are not safe in a country which we proudly say is an independent one when they are not given the respect they deserve and much more.
People compare our India with other countries, with what would you compare?
1.  Safety
2.  Peace
3.  Decent living
4.  Police force
5.  Basic human rights
6.  Proper education
7.  Bribery
8.  Not being forced to convert to another religion
9.  Terrorism

I might have missed many more points here, but we are nothing different.

Let me get on with those points above.
Do you think you are safe where you are? Do you think your brothers and sisters are safe? A news or two about the rapes are brought into the light. What about the rest? The women who get raped each day? Where even babies, old women are raped despite their age.
I was recently having a conversation with a fellow colleague where she stated that a woman who met with an accident was pulled out of her car and raped despite the situation or injuries she was in.
Are you in peace where you are? Do you really think you would reach home safely each day? Spend time with your children in peace without anything happening?
Someone recently told me that India is way better than other countries, where women are forced to wear a "BURQA" and in India, they are not. Women go around revealing their body parts and expect no one to look at them? Expose body parts which are not to be and expect no one touches them? The burqa is just a layer of clothing which you wear above your normal clothes to hide your body completely. Is it that hard to hide your body and keep yourself safe from prying eyes? Modesty is of an importance for each and every person, not just a woman but a man too. Can't you lower your gaze when a woman passes by? Can you not gaze at every other woman with lust filled in your eyes?

Basic human rights are of a rarity, where only money talks. Show some bundles of cash and everyone bends to your words, I'm baffled.
Want some work done? Pay bribe and get it done without any worries.
Stuck without a license or any proper documents? Bribe the police and escape.
Why don't people feel shame in taking and giving bribes? The person who goes around teaching not to take a bribe or give bribes the official to get a government job. Isn't that just wow?
I remember reading about the Gujarat riots, where everyone but a Hindu was slaughtered without hesitation and the best part is that the chief minister was lazing around on his couch having a cup of tea as people were slaughtered.
"No guilty feeling" was the reply when questioned about the mass murders, and he stands the prime minister of India today. Can you guarantee that we Indians will be safe under him?
Why are Muslims being targeted? Just because someone bombs a place stating that he is a Muslim? Open your eyes people, Muslims are called as the most peaceful people and the terrorists aren't even considered a Muslim. 'Terrorism has no religion' a common saying, isn't it? But let me tell you it's never about terrorism having a religion, it rather is  'No religion teaches terrorism'

Get the difference?
"Muslim youngsters throw beef inside temple" a hot news for the day, and a few days later they find out it was not the Muslims but a person from the temple committee had it done. 

Why would he do it?

Well, no one questions him once it is told he is the committee member.

Soldiers die on the battlefield and what happens to their families? What do you think is a soldier's salary?
They suffer out at the front lines while the politicians run around ravaging the insides.

Do you still feel proud being an Indian? Are you still proud of this one-day patriotism?
I would prefer celebrating independence day when India truly becomes independent from rapes, bribes, money minded politicians, shameless heads of the nation as the list goes on. 

Pulling up flowers filled flags and saluting it for a minute or two won't make you a patriot, if you really are a patriot then try eradicating the flaws in our country.
