Leaky gut syndrome

Leaky gut, an unusual phenomenon that has been gaining attention lately among natural health enthusiasts. Discovered by Dr Alessio Fasano, the current director of the Mucosal Immunology and Biology Research Center in Boston, the leaky gut syndrome shattered the beliefs of numerous experts who believed that the lining of a gut was just a wall of densely packed cells. Minute nutrient particles managed to squeeze between those cells and enter the bloodstream whereas larger food molecules and bacteria were turned away.  After spending nearly three decades studying about the gut and its role in the human body, Dr Fasano and his team discovered "zonulin", a gut protein. Zonulin regulates the numerous openings between the cell walls in the intestine. Further analysis and research led to another breakthrough known as "paradigm shift", wherein zonulin acts as a door opener that widens or tightens the openings between the cell walls.  The digestive system in a human body pl

An apple a day keeps the doctor away

One of the variants of the Pembrokeshire rhyme "eat an apple on going to bed and you'll keep the doctor from earning his bread", is the most common English-language proverb "an apple a day keeps the doctor away". The rhyme is said to have been penned down in the late 18th century whereas the proverb was coined in the early 19th century.  Apples are rich in Vitamin C and fibre hold a good claim in promoting health. A plant pigment named quercetin found in apples protect brain cells against various neuro-degenerative disorders including asthma and Alzheimer's disease. The antioxidants and phytonutrients in apples also help in reducing the risk of developing cancer, diabetes, hypertension and various heart diseases. However, researchers believe that the medicinal properties of an apple was not exalted when the proverb was coined. A team of  experts decided to investigate the medical proverb's success in daily life. However, they realized  that an apple a

The Last straw

Life comes with a purpose, they say. When a child is born, people begin to wonder which side of the parent it resembles more. When it grows, they begin to wonder what would become of it. If it is a boy, would it become responsible enough to have a home and earn to raise a family? If it is a girl, would she be fit enough to be someone's wife, someone's mother or daughter in law? Would the child be a boon or a bane to his parents? They begin to think if it could stand the norms of society and the fact that gets them scared is, what if this child becomes a challenge? They begin to teach him how scary the world could get and how you should always listen to the opinions of those who don't matter in life. But in the quest of pulling the string to the heart of a child, they forget that maybe that could be the purpose of his existence. Maybe he is here to be a change and not to fit in? The other day, there was this man, expressing his disdain for changing norms of our society,

Possessiveness

Possessiveness is like building a frame of gold, ornate with the most expensive stones for a bird that you think you own. Of course you value them too much which is why you always want to protect and keep them by your side. Thinking from the alternate perspective,   having someone who is possessive about you makes you feel immensely blessed, as though there is no one luckier than you. Let’s step a little further, in reality: Each one of us has a life of our own and each one deserves to use their personal space independently. If you think someone feels uncomfortable in your presence, give them space. Sometimes, your possessiveness is what makes people feel pressurized. Avoid making them feel as though they need to give you an explanation for everything they do. Let them live without running short out of oxygen. Shower your love; Make them feel that their presence makes a good difference in your life. Give them a chance to show their love towards you. Do not make them feel as if the

The Right Path (unedited)

The world has become a place what Muhammad p.b.u.h had said decades ago. Almost all signs of qayamat has come true and we have turned a blind eye towards it. We all know we are nearing the end, unfortunately neither have we prepared for it nor we have intentions to do so. We want the best of akhirah while we're busy extracting the best of duniya. How can we expect our sins to be forgiven without repentance? Even if our sins equal the foam of sea, Allah says he will forgive if we repent. We need to guide ourselves towards Allah's path to achieve the best of our eternal lives. We need to stop involving ourselves in the worldly pleasures that are ruining our akhirah. Even if it feels impossible, atleast think of giving up atleast one bad habit at a time, Allah will definitely help you get rid of it. Allah loves his slave more than seventy mother's love put together, He never hates his slave. He puts us into tests and trails, through darkness and pain, only to get us closer

Peace and Pain

I know you are in pain, I know it's hurting. It will, because your wounds are too fresh. Every time a wound heals , there's another one waiting to be etched on you? Yes, I know you are tired of it. You are tired. Your heart is tired of holding itself together. For once, you wish life to be on the good side. All this pain, anger, tears, and endless misery is drowning you in. Hold on, maybe it'll not be alright soon. Allah is there. Hold on to his faith. He has promised to erase your sins for every bit pain you feel. Your level imaan will rise. Allah gives biggest of the battles to his most beloved slaves. Why always me? Why always you? You are tired of fighting. You think Allah doesn't know that? You think he isn't aware about your misery? He knows, he knows everything you aren't even saying to yourself. He knows what pool of pain you are in. He knows what you were going to face even before you faced it. He knows your past, your present, your future, your

Rebuilding Yourself

Sometimes you feel the pain that consumes you. You stand on the edge of sanity, seconds away from diving into the unconsciousness. You begin to doubt your existence. Your life seems to make no sense. The chaos is drowning you, leaving you breathless, without giving you an option. You wish to have a button that could switch off your unbearable emotions. Even the non-living stuff around you seems to make you feel worthless. The room you locked yourself in is empty, yet you find demons you can’t escape. Your hearts breaks into a millions bits, your eyes feel tired of shedding the pain. You become incapable of standing on your feet. Peace that could at least be fantasized, is fading away from your memory too? You let agony ruin you because you had no choice. The hurricane couldn’t have been stopped, destruction couldn’t have been prevented. You search for a way to escape. You rush in the opposite way of the winds, and the winds will be harsher on you. Yes, you have no choice. You

Life Near the End (Poem)

//Life Near the End It's a lonesome lane Too quiet. Too comfortable to escape. I rest my back, against the wall of thorns. Thorns, whose roses never bloomed. Fragrances that never filled the air. With a loving gesture and a stoned heart, I caress the vine, as though it would blossom till eternity just by a touch. A chill sent a shiver down my spine, as a suppressed shriek echoed through the silence. My eyes darted, in search of a soul  in the lifeless lane, but in vain. Plodding down the lane,  a hundred years passed in merely a couple of seconds, flabbergasted, I turned around; Tears, endlessly running down my cheeks. The risen sun, smiles my way, letting the roses blossom, far away. Shining brighter than I had ever witnessed till date. As I rush to embrace the warmth, a gentle grip clasps my hand. Freezing my time, gently pulling me out. As I stand beside my body, drowning in regret. If only I had embraced the goodness before it was too late...

Faith

FAITH On a mission, audacious and wild Brutally bruised, yet the spirit's alive Amidst the valleys, wrecked some lay Clueless traveler, starts off for a crusade Sack of regrets, weigh a ton Pebble strewed path, now blurred Dropping pieces of the gloomy heart The darkening sky, casts its shadow Footsteps decelerate, the winds freeze The igniting spark, losing heat Night falls, and solitude steps in With the falling stars, drown wishes A silent prayer, hummed by hopes Heard by the Greatest of Kings The dawn breaks, untying the ropes The traveler's dying mission, only faith had it recouped.   _Guzi

Venom

VENOM Venom in the hearts, poured into the delicate lavish glass. Bitter like the intoxicating drink, Filled upto the brim, for all of those who wished to be torn apart. Pay no penny, for it is a mutual quest. Search for venom in the glass you served, for it might have a larger quantity that has been served to you.
