The Unbearable Pain
This pain, unbearable it feels
Yet every time, I survive through it
It is nothing much though
Just an unfertilized egg, getting disposed
Society's words keep ringing in my mind
"Women are fragile and weak"
How? I never understand
Inevitable torment, every month they bear
Drains off their strength, during that while
The crushing pain, they feel in their bones
The tightening of waist by a pricking rope
Their belly feels like an indiffusible bomb
Yearning to burst out, yet without a sound
Their abdomen, as though was only meant to impart pain
Needles piercing through the body, was what it felt
Their legs feel, as though paralyzed for a day
Their body goes numb, due to enduring the whole bulk of pain
After bearing all this, they still say
"Women are fragile and weak"?
Like a submerged glacier, is their strength hidden
And so you remark them delicate?
'Spread awareness, periods are nothing to be ashamed about'
chanted the world.
Stop for a second, and think
'Spread awareness about something everyone is already aware
of?'
'Will it help them anyway?'
'Will it help them ease off the cycle of pain?'
'Will it change anything in the narrow minded brains?'
'Will the narrow minded even bother read or know about it?'
'Will the narrow minded even bother read or know about it?'
NO
If there's something you really can do
Is to step a little down and free them from the monsters, ripping their
dignities off
Just because they bleed, doesn't mean they're weak
This pain they go through every month
Makes them stronger and tough
This pain they go through
Gives them the power to survive through worst of the storms
With a beautiful smile on their faces.
